PURE GENIUS.

There's a name that should be on everybody's lips...

THIERRY MUGLER.

Where the FUCK have you gone? WHY did you shut down your couture house?

PURE GENIUS!

You are my inspiration to succeed & create art.

(HEAVY) METAL WORK.

I chose to do metal work for my learning contract, and with this, comes more toile-ing, but this time, out of cardboard.

Here are some of my ideas for head pieces for my model to wear (and a ring) modelled by the ever so beautiful Lucy.

They are still in their pre-metal stages but hopefully I'll be getting them done soon.

I also have a corset and a bra in the works, I'm just waiting on my models measurements.

DIFFUSE THIS.

Because I'm doing Couture for my collection, I found it quite difficult to design a diffusion range.

So I took a look at Christopher Kanes current diffusion ranges and this is what I came up with:

It's very quite, edgy and dark, whilst still keeping elements of his collections within the ranges.

Like the bag and shoes with the rivets, they reflect this dress:

So what I intend to do is to inject my theme into my diffusion range... What to make, however, is a different case...

Stay tuned.

Design Development

Crikey - Okay So it's been a long while since I last updated: The internet back at my London home had been down for SO long that I fell totally behind & now I'm trying to catch up. But from now, I should be back on track!

Okay so over a period of 3 lessons, we did some design development exercises, with each week focusing on different things.

First Lesson (week 3): Silhouettes, Collars & Cuffs:

Then Came (Week 4): Sleeves, Shirts & Skirts:

And Finally (Week 6): Trousers, Coats/Jackets & Dresses:

*Note, that the designs with a yellow sticker are the ones I liked the most and will use the idea for my final collection

Then from there, I created a final selection of 16 garments, using elements from all of the previous examples:
